Our campaigning organisation is run by our director and campaign leads, supported by a small support team, management committee (board), events and communications team, and volunteers.

We are grateful to our 20 or so members, individuals who strongly support our work and whom we have invited to join our voluntary association.

Clean Creatives SA

  • Stephen Horn

    CLEAN CREATIVES SA COUNTRY DIRECTOR

    An award-winning producer and director, Stephen brought the Clean Creatives campaign to South Africa and is helping launch and lead Clean Creatives SA as a key programme of Fossil Free SA.

  • Nozuko Poni

    CLEAN CREATIVES SA COORDINATOR

    Noni is a digital campaigner and project manager with 10 years’ experience in the environmental and human rights sector; a Berlinale Fellow for the 2020 Berlin Film Festival, and past campaigner for the groundbreaking Deadly Air court case in which the residents of Mpumalanga took the government to court for the air pollution in the province and won.

  • Emma Del Cuore

    CLEAN CREATIVES SA CAMPAIGNER

    Emma is a campaigner for Clean Creatives South Africa with a Master’s degree in Climate Change and Sustainable Development from the University of Cape Town (UCT). She is passionate about earth and the people on it, and her mission is to inspire change through effective storytelling of many different forms.

  • Lazola Kati

    FOSSIL AD BAN COORDINATOR

    Lazola Kati, a campaigns media and communications specialist, with a background in social justice and public policy research and activism, is our Fossil Ad Ban coordinator from June 2024.

  • Thameena Dhansay

    FOSSIL AD BAN CAMPAIGNER

    Thameena is a campaigner on the Cape Town Fossil Ad Ban campaign. Having just graduated with an Honours degree in Media Theory and Practice from the University of Cape Town, she is passionate about harnessing the power of storytelling to shift perspectives and enact meaningful change in society.

  • James Granelli

    FOSSIL AD BAN CAMPAIGNER (VOLUNTEER)

    James was involved in our UCT divestment campaign and after a year on staff is now a volunteer campaigner on our Cape Town Fossil Ad Ban campaign. He is passionate about climate and socio-ecological justice, political ecology, and transdisciplinary research. He is also an avid photographer.

  • Sandrine Mpazayabo

    DIVESTMENT CAMPAIGNER

    Sandrine has a Master of Arts in Migration and Displacement Studies (Cum Laude) from Wits, and diverse work experience in project management,  administration, content creation, stakeholder engagement and advanced research and writing.

  • Stephanie Cookson

    DIVESTMENT CAMPAIGNER

    Steph is a Master’s student with a passion for social impact, connecting the right people to the right information, and experience in youth leadership, qualitative research and communication; and hopes to dedicate her skills and values to organisations that prioritise social impact, sustainability, and resilience.

  • Emma Fookwe

    EVENTS AND COMMUNITY

    Emma is a trained social worker with a passion for people, human rights and excellent organisation. Emma manages our events planning and stewards our community of supporters.

  • Jo-Anne Smetherham

    MEDIA AND PUBLICATIONS MANAGER

    Jo is an award-winning journalist and PR practitioner with 25 years’ experience and a passion for telling stories of those working to create a more humane and sustainable world. She focuses on our external media relations.

  • Thameena Dhansay

    SOCIAL MEDIA OFFICER

    Thameena divides her time between our social media and campaigning for the Fossil Ad Ban campaign. 

Support Team

  • David Le Page

    CO-FOUNDER, DIRECTOR & COORDINATOR

    David is an environment and human rights journalist who has worked with the Mail & Guardian, Treatment Action Campaign, and Southern African Faith Communities Environment Institute. David works with the divestment, Fossil Ad Ban and comms teams.

  • Sarah Robyn Farrell

    SENIOR ADVISER

    Sarah has spent her career advocating for sustainability and socio-environmental justice. She fulfils a multiplicity of roles in the climate justice space including FFSA divestment campaigner and general adviser. She is also a writer and musician. She has been an indispensable contributor to FFSA’s long-term development.

  • Eugene Fisher

    ADMINISTRATOR

    Eugene is a human rights activist, administrator and outdoor lover who has also worked with Harvest of Hope and the Children’s Resource Centre.

  • Tracy Caderberg

    FINANCE OFFICER

    Tracy is an experienced financial manager and administrator who has dedicated her career since 1999 to serving the NGO/NPO community. Past experience includes Edu-Peg, Children’s Resource Centre, Abalimi Bezekhaya and Harvest of Hope. She has a passion for justice and helping people realise their worth, value and purpose through strong and healthy relationships; believing that all possibilities begin from deep individual well-being.

  • Mark Volmink

    OPERATIONS MANAGER

    Mark, our operations manager from June 2024, has extensive leadership and management experience in the private, government and civil society sectors. He has a passion for development and assisting those experiencing exclusion, hunger or  poverty. Mark is pursuing his PhD at UWC on the water, energy and food (WEF) nexus in food security. He is married with three children and enjoys road running and squash.

  • Nicola Wills

    CHAIR

    Nicola is an economist with DNA Economics who volunteered for our ManCo in March 2024 and became our chair in June 2024.

  • Andrew Park

    TREASURER

    Andrew is a trained counsellor, teacher, educational content developer and past volunteer with Extinction Rebellion South Africa and FFSA. Based in Johannesburg, he is now an instructional designer in the field of entrepreneurial development.

  • Jigisha Mandalia

    SECRETARY

    Jigisha supported our Fossil Free UCT campaign as a student activist in the Green Campus Initiative and now works for a renewable energy company.

  • Mark New

    MEMBER

    Professor Mark New is a climate scientist and former head of UCT’s African Climate and Development Initiative who volunteered for our ManCo in early 2024.

  • Dean Bhebhe

    MEMBER

    Dean is a climate activist with Power Shift Africa and former consultant to our Fossil Ad Ban campaign, who joined our ManCo team in early 2024.
