Mission-aligned Investment Seminar
You are invited to a Mission-Aligned Investing Seminar for South African leaders in philanthropy, faith, education and city governance.
The Seminar will bring together mission-driven leaders from across South Africa to focus on how we can finance a just, fossil fuel-free future in which everyone has access to renewable energy.
Keynote address: Ellen Dorsey, Executive Director of the Wallace Global Fund
The Wallace Global Fund launched Divest-Invest Philanthropy, a coalition of over 170 foundations committed to deploying their investments to address the climate crisis and accelerate the clean energy transition. Dorsey is globally recognised for creative philanthropic strategies and mission-related investing, and was awarded the 2016 inaugural Nelson Mandela-Graça Machel Brave Philanthropy Award for launching Divest-Invest. The Wallace Global Fund has been fully divested from all fossil fuel companies since 2014.
The keynote address will be followed by interactive discussions with asset managers, climate activists and frontline community leaders about ways to deploy capital towards a just and sustainable future.
The seminar will be held in conjunction with the Financing the Future: The Global Climate Divest-Invest Summit, which is taking place from 10-11 September.
