'Climate change must be a central pillar of SA’s economic growth'
Climate change and the risks associated with it should be a key part of President Cyril Ramaphosa’s state of the nation address. How SA chooses to respond to climate change and its impact on the country will affect economic growth and social development for decades to come, yet climate change remains sidelined by the government and key sectors that are most vulnerable to its effects.

It's often difficult to know what news sources to trust on climate change, given the vast amount of disinformation out there. So we've worked to put together a summary of reliable sources.
2018 Spotlight campaign closing event
Fossil Free SA has for some time been running a petition campaignon social media and on the ground to persuade SA's top asset managers and owners – Allan Gray, Coronation, Investec, Old Mutual, Sanlam and the Government Employees' Pension Fund – to offer fossil fuel-free funds.

Today was a big milestone for us, as we took out ads on p. 1 and p. 3 of Business Day, marking the achievement of over 2,000 signatures on our petition calling for SA's top asset managers and owners to give savers ways to invest for the climate-friendly, fossil fuel-free future we want.
